A thank you from our Board of Directors of Simi at the Garden:
I don’t think that words will ever express the unbelievable gift of time, care and dedication to our garden that our AMAZING volunteers gave yesterday to our Booth and the Social Feed project that the Garden kicked off…
Jodie, Carolyn, Lynn, Sandy, Cari, Chris, Lily, Joe, Stacey, Judy…
WITHOUT WHOM THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO WAY THE GARDEN’S BOOTH AND OUTREACH AT THE FAIR WOULD HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE!!!
So many people came to our booth and learned about our garden, it would be hard to guess at the number.
This morning, a notification came in that our first tweet announcing the Street Fair Launch of the @SocialFeed project was LIKED (among others) by @NYCCGC (http://nyccgc.org/), The New York City Community Garden Coalition! When I first posted that tweet the night before the Street Fair, which was simply a picture of our Social Feed booth sign, we had zero followers. I have no idea how it has started crawling the twittersphere (I’m not much of a twitterer), but it is heartwarming to know that because of the effort of our incredible volunteers, thousands of people around the country are going to get to know about the Simi Valley Community Garden, and all of our incredible members and the amazing things they do!!!
Thank you all so much for not only the wonderful hearts you all have, but for the sacrifices you never cease making for our community here, and now everywhere!! I couldn’t be more humbled to be a part of such an amazing group of people.
